Throughout the years I realize that less is more when your out and about in today’s climate.
You may want to have replicates made of your favorite pirces, for travel and shopping trips.
A safe at the bank and at home (one that can’t be picked up and taken) are always a good policy.

Congrats on the new bag and beautiful engagement ring ! Merry Christmas to you and your family ! Color and clarity are the areas where you can always sacrifice girl . Mine is not a colorless diamond either , it’s in the near colorless range but truly faces up white with the most amazing sparkle . We went just under the 6 carat marker . Carat weight doesn’t always guarantee a larger diamond , it’s all in the cut, you don’t want a diamond that’s cut too deep or too shallow . Cut is the #1 most important part of selecting a beautiful diamond , it’s something many don’t seem to focus on . I am not a fan of oval on my hand either , totally a round brilliant classic diamond girl too ! Ovals are known for their bow tie effect and are not given a cut grade either like a round diamond , so ovals need to be seen in person for sure . Diamonds need to be seen in person , in all different lighting settings , not just under professional lighting , those lights can make the most terrible diamond look pretty ! The engagement ring I had before we upgraded to what I have now was a 3 carat round but I felt the same way as you about it , we were not super happy with its sparkle . The diamond I have now gets spotted from across the room lol . I have also gotten a lot of flack from some people about it being so big , is it real ? How much did my husband pay ? What does he do for a living ? Literally things I would never ask another person friend or not . So be prepared for that side of it too girl lol . I always knew I wanted a larger diamond when I got married , however I would have married my husband with a paper ring or even no ring at all . We were fortunate enough to have a jeweler in the family back then and I am so grateful for what I have .
