❤❤❤Great tips, Shea! Thank you. 😁👏🏻I can do this but I don’t want to. I’m a runner and my scalp sweats. Dry shampoos don’t help much to mask the smell of sweaty scalp. I wash my hair twice a week and I’m ok with that. Love your channel. 💐💕👌🏻
I run in Florida and I am drenched in sweat. I have to wash my hair on those days because nothing gets out that sweat smell.
Thanks so much for watching!!
Yep! I was about to leave my own comment about sweat when I saw this one. All bets are off for me if I throw a work out day in there. Sigh… Still, great tips for those days (or weeks or months) when I’m not working out.

Great content Shea! 💗 I bought a lot of the items you had previously recommended and they were all great! Your videos help make my life easier and save me so much time having to decide what brand to get. I hate being disappointed when buying stuff so I always go to your Channel! Keep up the good work. Would love to see more home décor/organization videos in the future. 💗
I would just like to add – rinsing the hair with water as much as possible, using as few chemicals as possible (personally I’m against leave-in products, I prefer conditioner, but OK), washing the hairbrush as often as possible (in any case, pull out all the hairs from brushes after each hair brushing). Finally, the hair can always be tied and slicked back (for the last couple of days).
All in all, thanks for the tips. Greetings from the EU.
Hi Shea! Thank you for all of your incredible content. My stylist loves that I can go a week without washing my hair. However, my dermatologist does not. Your scalp is your skin. Is it wise to not clean it for 7 days? Any tips on scalp health while keeping healthy hair oils?
There was no benefit to not washing your hair for 7 days, since you didn’t protect your hair with the natural oils… But if you can’t wash your hair, for a long while, this has decent tips
I think it is easier for gals with long hair because there are so many different styling options, but for us with short hair what option are there? Waking up with bed head is awful😂
According to my trichologist, hair should be washed day in day out to stay clean and healthy, and to prevent buildup in the scalp. Also less use of products and less to none heat.
As a curly/textured hair girl I can go 7 days without washing. However not all the tips here work for me. This is definitely for people with straight hair (and probably not very porous). I highly recommend Manes by Mel. She’s a textured hair expert & a professional hair stylist. She goes into the science of why certain things work & others don’t & how to find out what your hair needs. I’ve learned my hair hates coconut products and loves avocado products. I don’t know why and at this point it doesn’t matter. I just know I can’t use just any product. I absolutely cannot blow dry my hair. That will make it so frizzy and tangled. 🤣 I can diffuse my hair on low heat. So.. for all of you textured hair people out there just know these tips may not work for you.
Hello Shea. I have a tip. To a spray bottle, add 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar to one cup of water . Then spray on your hair comb it through and leave it on for 15 minutes prior to shampooing your hair. Works as well as a clarifying shampoo.
I am ordering the Magic Myst. It looks great. Thank you! ❤
I had to start off going three days, then four and so on. Now I’ve only wash my hair once a week. I call it spa day. Where I do all my Beauty stuff. Then during week I take a quick shower with my hair up in towel to prevent moisture frizz. It’s been a life/time saver. I have long hair like Shea. If my ends get frizzy I water then down and use some hair oil. I rarely use dry shampoo. My stylist says this is great for my hair. I think it depends on who you talk too. For me it means not heat styling my hair everyday. My hair loss has dropped dramatically. IDK it’s what works for the individual but do think easier with longer hair.
I’m a curly girl and I can get about 3-4 days from a good double wash. I’m going to try the magic mist, because I definitely need to use a detangler daily and to plump up my curls. I don’t blow dry (frizzies), I don’t even know where my diffuser is lol! My hair is too short for the big scrunchie, but I agree with the shower cap and hand-held sprayer for the non-wash days. Good video!
Wish my hair could last 7 days without washing and look that good! After 2 days, even with dry shampoo there is no way to cover the fact that my hair is greasy 🙄 I wash my hair twice in the shower and that happens 3 times a week… It’s as much as it will last. Greasy hair is complicated 😩
My hair got so oily after my pregnancy and has stayed that way. I’ve tried everything haha. It’s a hot mess.
Love this video! So true! I can go 5-7 days! Love it! Last day is pullback day!
I have fine, thin hair. I used to wash my hair every day or sometimes every second day. With the covid work from home, I extended that to every 4 days. In winter when I wasn’t going out much I washed my hair every 5 or 6 days as I wore a toque when I went out. If I had a Zoom meeting, I just pulled my hair back. I feel like my hair quality has improved sooo much since I wash it less. Because I need the volume for my fine, thin hair, I could never go 7 days without washing. I feel every 4 days works well for me. I try not to use much product. Really, what is the use of extending to 7 days if you have to use a lot of product to keep your hair looking good? Washing less, minimal product use, and less heat styling works for me. Oh, I also switched to natural products and no longer use drug store or salon shampoo.
Great video as always Shea, I only wash my long hair once a week, have done for years, except I don’t use any products really in between, I give my hair a good double wash when shampooing it and I condition it and I’ll also use a good leave in conditioner but before I wash it I put a hair mask in my hair and leave it in for a few hours while I’m outside doing some yard work with a big straw hat, I saturate my hair with the leave in conditioner and the heat from wearing my hat kind of activates it into my ends, I’ll let it mostly air dry before I go in and style it and I usually wear my hair up, mostly because I can’t stand it hanging in my face, I’ve since gotten some heated rollers that work great to refresh my hair some days if I do want to wear it down, but it’s usually up most days in a messy bun, that seems to be my trademark hairstyle look Lol 😂, sometimes people don’t know me if I wear my hair down, yet it does look pretty, my hair shade is similar to yours. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Shea. I live in a tropical island and I cannot go 2 days without washing my hair. My scalp gets too oily, it itches and my hair feels like you can squeeze out oil to fry eggs!😬🥺!
6:55 i think your hair looks absolutely fantastic here. Its not perfect and thats what i like about it. Its realistic for most people who arent filming themselves or taking pics of themselves and the most they do is go to work and the grocery store. Its attainable and just beautiful. ❤
I can always tell when someone doesn’t wash their hair often. Believe it or not, there is a smell, especially in the summer. Also, hair is a dirt and odor magnet: dust, smoke & food odors, etc. I used to housekeep for a couple who didn’t wash their hair often. Their pillow cases smelled so bad, even though I changed them 2-3x/week and washed their pillows. It was the same smell that came from their hair. I wash my hair daily, and thankfully my hair can handle it. I don’t really scrub my scalp except for the days I go to the gym (about every other day) because my head sweats profusely. I have had people tell me that they don’t have to wash their hair often (that they trained their hair), but I can tell their hair is dirty and their scalps are crusty.
Because I am a part time fitness instructor I was my hair 2 times a week. But all of your tips great!
