  1. I love the concept of this video and it was fun to play along to see which looks cheap vs expensive! 😊 I love styling in my videos cheaper things with luxury so it is great to see these examples. 💕 I like the shirts, the gold jewelry, and I agree the blazers need better buttons that are attached better! Thanks for sharing! ❤❤❤

  2. This was so much fun! I think you have trained me well, or I have watched so many of your videos – I have learned so much from you. It was like a little pop quiz and I passed the cheap vs expensive test. You have helped me style up!

  3. Shea, I am happy you finally promote quality over quantity. And the fact that quality and trash can both be found at different price points.
We have to get away from fast fashion.

  4. With denim I think how well the waistband is structured makes a big difference, a well constructed waistband will hold up whereas something cheap will crease and collapse throughout the day. The “cheap” dirty denim you tried on looked like they had too much elastic in the waistband and wouldn’t hold their shape as you wore them.

  5. I guess I wasn’t quite convinced. I thought the first Free People top was very pretty. Their stuff does run big especially in tops. The rest were so-so. Didn’t really care for that dress at all but you can wear anything. Definitely ideas for a lot younger women that can pull those shorts and dress off.

  6. I think the tweed blazer looked very well made. it is rare to see a plaid (in any clothing piece) so well matched. Even the sleeves were matched! It was beautifully lined as well.

  7. The buttons on the blazer was so funny! Many years ago in high school I learned that after sewing the ‘attachment’ part of the button you use the thread to wrap several times around between the button shank and the garment and that makes it not floppy. You would think the manufacturer would know- or is too cheap to pay the extra 10 seconds…..

  8. I change the buttons on lots of things I buy to entirely change the look. I change the style and color of the buttons . I have even put purple buttons on a yellow top, but it looked incredible -so much better that the standard brown buttons.

  9. Great video. I personally can’t wait until the torn distressed look goes alway. Maybe I’m old fashioned but the tears make clothes look cheap🤷‍♀️

    1. I’m not fond of that trend either. At least not purchasing stuff like that. When I was younger a hole in your pants was custom from playing hard not bought that way.

  10. What makes the hounds tooth top look more expensive is because the pattern has been cut out to line up the horizontal lines on the sleeves with the bodice.

  11. I actually thought most of the pieces looked cheap and mass market/fast fashion. I thrift most everything so I know for sure if it will look good long term 🙂. Love Shea tho!

  12. Love you, girl!!
The “price point” is a term that is only used when buying in bulk, because the price changes depending in how much of something is purchased. The price moves along the line, either up or down (thus saying “point”– depending where it is on the line). For example, my husband buys components in bulk to build products.
When buying stuff one at a time we just say “price”. We aren’t going to the mall and buying same item in bulk, soooo. .. Just say “price”. Whatevah, but just letting you know. The term is thrown around so much these days and it’s…wrong….and the habit is so cringe. And the yellow dress is a bunch of “yassss queen!!”

  13. I love your videos…and your advice. I have to say this though. In my experience with my gold from India and Dubai, the higher the gold content in a piece of jewelry, the more yellow and softer it is. Pieces that are 22 or 23k in my collection do look different from even designer gold pieces that are 18k in the States. Perhaps they look more yellow but the pieces do have more gold content and are ultimately worth more if you were to think about the value of gold.

  14. From far away I thought that hoodie/cardigan looked expensive so I’m glad you shared the closeups! Fabric that comes apart so easily drives me crazy!
