  1. Shoes are basically all the same and women should wear what they love in style is for women who keep up with the Joneses 😂🤣😂🤣 set your own style don’t be a follower be a leader.

    1. I was just thinking the same thing. All of the things that she said were now in style , I had years ago🤣 Especially the clogs and espadrilles. So what I’ve learned is to keep and wear what you like. Buying things when they are in style and tossing them out when they are not will keep you broke. Wear what you love !!!

  2. One thing I love is noticing that fashion trends are really different from the USA to Europe.

For example, the chunky heels with straps that you show in the beggining have been all the rage for a few years and they are still going strong, now with the new colors of the season. And the colors for this season are just bright, nearly neon (blue, yellow, green, orange). They are always sold out, it is impossible to get your hands on a pair. We don’t see much of tie-up ankle straps.

As for boots, whats really in style is the combat boot, either for summer or winter, especially with platform or chunky soles, we don’t see much of western boots. We don’t have that tradition. We also don’t see lots of birkenstocks either 😅

    Great video, as always 😍

    1. @Bruna Ramalho Galamba the point was since they are German shoes, you would see them there more than you would see them in Portugal or other places in Europe. It is understandable that you have not seen them in Portugal. Each country is different.

    2. @Anne Donker Combat boots have been one of the best things to be on trend. I don’t have to spend a ton of money to have a pair anymore 😁

  3. Oh my goodness! If only I’d kept every pair of shoes I wore my junior and senior year of high school (1997-1999)!!! I’d be all set for this year! 🙃 I lived in chunky loafers with my school uniform and Dr Marten sandals! All these trends are so nostalgic for me. Love this video!! 💙

  4. Seeing these trends, I’ve just understood what makes 99% of shoes available in my local shoe places a complete misfit for me. These trends are completely against my personal style preferences. I clearly gravitate towards by-gone styles…

    1. Trendy vs. classic… I’d always go with classic. None of these shoes are my style either. Some of them are styles I’ve seen my grandma wear way back in the day, like the woven sandals. Just find what is classic and stick with it. I’m not a trendy gal most of the time, but it means my wardrobe lasts a lot longer.

    2. I remember the chunky loafers from the early 90s, lol. They were fun. Can’t believe that they are back in style, though. Mostly I mostly stick to the classics as well.

    3. Nothing wrong with vintage. I think style is a personal choice. Wear what you like. Be your own person. Don’t follow the masses and spend money due to what’s they say is in “style.” Style is what you want it to be. BTW – I have stopped watching sponsored videos for obvious reasons.

  5. I don’t know, both shoes you show in the thumbnail are classic styles that won’t date. They are admittedly plain but will always be a stable in my humble non-fashion-girl, non-influencer opinion.

    1. I agree. I would never trade my classic ankle boots for western boots. Western boots are only good for certain outfits and certainly don’t compare to a good, classy ankle boot that you can wear dressed up or down. These trends are not for me, but it seems a lot of people do go for fast fashion.

  6. The classics are never out of style! The updated ones you chose, some look cheap and not everyone wants to walk around in heels or wedge-heel. They look so uncomfortable!

    1. Amen, Yes, Arrrgh! Not only are they uncomfortable but they cause more damage to a body than the fashion industry wants anyone to know (they’re also moneymakers for physical therapists, orthopedists, etc).
You’re spot-on about the cheap appearance. I stopped watching when the wedges with clear plastic straps appeared.
Nordstrom’s collaboration on this video was a grave disservice to their reputation. Yikes.

    2. Yes, I don’t really care too much what’s in or out. If they fit comfortably and look cute, I’m wearing them. I take any ‘in’ advice with a grain of salt!

  7. I low key don’t believe in “what’s in style” I personally believes everyone has there stable style. No one should be forced to stop wearing their favorite shoes and wear ugly ones just because some designers and celebrities and influences said so

    1. Absolutely! We all have a personal style and trends just aren’t for me. They go in and out so fast, it’s ridiculous. I wear classic styles that last a few years, at least.

    2. Agree…..its just a matter of time these in style will be pushed aside also. This is all about spending our hard earned money. It’s about time we see this🤔🤔

  8. Love the espadrille and woven leather. Can’t ever warm up to western wear and clogs! Not really loving the return of the platform either.

  9. I feel like alot of these styles that are “out” were literally recommended not even a year ago. Not a fan of fast fashion, or what I see everyone else wearing. I tend to look for unique and classic pieces and wear what looks good on me. Oh and I will NEVER wear the Jesus sandals. Lol. But thanks for showing the trends for those who like to keep up.

    1. True. Fast fashion is also what leads to all the clothing that sits in our landfills or sitting in the landfills of poorer countries. We have so much Textile Waste and its a form of environmental pollution.

    2. I would not invest in a pair of cowboy boots unless you buy a good pair and plan to wear them for years. We in Nashville do not wear them as much as people would like to believe. You can spot a tourist a mile away because of the cheap (ones not worn by the locals) “cowboy” boots. Nevermind the fact that they are one of the most uncomfortable boots you will ever wear until they are properly broken in, hence a good pair is an investment.

  10. Glad to see block heels moving out. Can’t do the prison “woven” slides, or the clogs. IMO Nike’s quality is terrible and just can’t ethically support them anymore, but the retro look is always cool to me. Too bad lot of styles just aren’t flattering or realistic for the curvier/wider/muscular crowd.

    1. Same. Not a fan of a lot of her choices in this video. She references Chanel in her videos a lot. I just can’t. How do more people not know she really supported the Nazi’s?? She designed their uniforms! And so many people LOVE Chanel! It really makes me sick..

  11. I love you Shea and won’t hold it against you personally, but I will NEVER let go of my horsebit loafers and slides.😢🥹

Also- LIVING for the woven slides (masc and feminine) 🤗

  12. I really like both the in and out of trend shoes— they’re all so cool and nice! I don’t think anyone would look at you weird if you wear the “out of trend” because I don’t think they’re out yet just not the hot thing. For me, I really like girly sneakers (with florals, dainty, in pretty colors, etc) and Mary Janes of any kind.

  13. I can’t believe my style preference actually disagrees with most of the options she has presented🤷🏾‍♀️ I am thinking I gravitate towards staying classy than following trends as taught by Anna-bey because some of those chunky heels options, not my cup of tea

    1. I see that you are a fellow ANNA BEY fan! The thing is, Shea is just the fun, and artsy kind of girl, and I get her from that point of view. I actually liked a few of her options.

  14. Funny, all the “out of styles” are in my closet. While I love Shea’s video, I feel this is the fashion industry’s push to get us to shop more. Seeing a video called “Minimalism” on Netflix really emphasized the fact of this nation’s disposable mindset. 85% of clothing in the US ends up in landfills or is burned. I did buy the woven flat sandals on Walmarts website – exact dupe for a more expensive brand and that’s all I added to my spring/summer collection shoe collection.

    1. @Angeli Rohival yes . I love her channel- encourages creativity instead of over consumption which im so into these past few years. I try to use what i have and not buying
I haven’t bought any new piece of clothing or shoes past 12 months and my space and wallet is loving it.
We all should think twice and be conscious about consumerism, fast fashion and low quality items that just end up in a landfill

  15. Trendy but not for me. When it comes to fashion, my rule is stay with the classics that will continue to stand the test of time. If you buy all these “what’s in 2022”, most likely the next year or so, it’s out again.. just a waste of money in my opinion 😊 But love this video and love Shea! Keep doing what you’re doing! ❤️

  16. 👢The Cowboy boot never goes out- I’ve had the same pointed toe neutral beige vintage pair for 15 years! I love to dress them with boot cut curvy jeans, a soft feminine blouse, and a suede moto or western jacket. Alternatively a camisole or t with a long open cardigan, always adding a complimentary belt and bag – So hot 🔥

  17. I feel like we need to embrace the styles that speak to us and only change it when our season of life or style changes, not just because the fashions change. With that said, it’s nice to see styles rotate because they’re going to speak to different people, maybe even me!

  18. All this tells me is that I prefer the classics over many of the fugly trends I’m seeing this year. I’m sure the classic fresh face will also be out soon, and we’ll go back to the overdone cake face from 2015.

    1. Reminds me of my wedding day, when my soon to be sister-in-law offered to do my makeup (I was already wearing my makeup). I looked at her neon-blue eyeshadow (this was a middle-aged woman) and declined. I’ve always been a natural-look person, so the idea of having someone with bright blue eyeshadow do my makeup just isn’t happening.

  19. Trends = ways for companies to get the consumer to buy more products. I like some of the trends, but some of these things, that supposedly aren’t on trend anymore will never go out of style IMO. So wear what you want and feel comfortable in! For example: Flip flops will never go out of style depending on where you live. I use to live in Hawaii and telling people that would make them laugh. lol 🙂
