  2. To point number 8, I would also add… you may THINK you have 20-30 years, but time is never guaranteed. I thought I had 20 more years with my parents and my dad suddenly passed away in 2015. Mom went to work, came back home 4hrs later and he was gone.

So it is important if you have the time, FaceTime, text, call, or visit because no time is guaranteed

  3. Great tips and advice! Love the drinking more water tip. Too much water can be dangerous for some people so this idea with your body weight, genius! It’s manageable and realistic!! Great idea!!

  5. I’ve been watching you, Shea, for a couple of years and this is one of my favorite episodes every year. It’s a sort of reset of the ideas you’ve covered in the past that I did and may have slid a bit (or a LOT) on. And you always have something new to add to the mix. I love that you aren’t preachy and are actually excited and enthusiastic about starting a new year, resetting old good habits, and beginning to build some new good habits. It doesn’t hurt that they’re all great ideas and in line with how I like to think and try to be!

Happy New Year, Shea and Josh! And to the boys! Your channel just gets better and better and I wish you all possible success in the coming year. ♥️🗓️♥️

  6. Eating the frog is like making your bed first thing in the morning. You accomplished one task 100% and it sets you up for success the rest of the day! I love habit stacking too and have my vitamins next to the toothpaste. Great video Shea

  7. Another plug for #8. I live 700 miles from “home”. When Mom & Dad quit driving due to age, and siblings were too busy to come here, I was a brat and didn’t visit. Complicating the issue was I couldn’t drive it alone, and I felt bad asking for rides from the airport (nearest reasonable flight airport was 3 hours each way from home). As you said, time flies. Mom & Dad are gone, one brother passed this summer. It really hit hard all the get-togethers I missed, esp. Mom’s big holiday meals, but also just day-to-day conversations. All I have is excuses. So, yes VISIT the ones you love now!

  8. Really enjoyed these tips, particularly the one about habit stacking. I’m so bad with taking my iron supplement. So I think I’m gonna try what you do with taking them right after brushing my teeth.

  9. All of these are great tips! I especially love the habit stacking tip. I do wall sits while I brush my teeth since my electric toothbrush has a two minute timer. And YES, pay off debt! It will give you a sense of peace like nothing else.

  10. This was a super helpful video! I do many of these things but habit stacking sounds great! Please keep preaching the debt free thing. I know it’s hard for people and it was so hard for me but I have been debt free for a while and I can’t tell you how much NOT having loans or credit cards truly increases your ability to save. The rich get richer is kind of true but not until you pay off that debt and then you get richer really fast! I just said to a friend who lives in another state who I see maybe once per year that if we don’t get together more often we may only see each other 20-25 more times… so sad, but also a great reminder. Lastly, say NO more often! Financially and time wise just do what you love and makes you happy! 😊 Gen X women spent many years doing a lot of things they didn’t want to do and the next generation needs to do more of what they love. Don’t be lazy but have balance!

  11. Wonderful video Shea with some excellent tips, especially the saving and paying cash for things you want, since we’ve been married 44 years ago we’ve lived our lives that way, we would always always save 30% of our money, sometimes more and we’ve never ever owned a credit card, if we wanted something bad enough we would save for it, the only ever debt we had was our mortgage home loan which we paid off years ago in our 40’s, we own everything we have just by putting money away and not wasting it on frivolous things, one of the ways we started to save when we were younger was by paying more tax which in return gave us more of a tax return when that time came around and we’d pay it off our home loan, we’ve taught our children the same way of saving, I would take board money off them when they started working and I’d bank that money so when they were old enough to purchase a vehicle, I was able to give them that money back for them to pay cash for their first car, it also taught them that if they didn’t have that money in the first place they didn’t miss it, they continued to bank that money into a savings account which gave them both a good deposit on their first home. I know things work differently here in Australia 🇦🇺 than over in the USA 🇺🇸, we figured that out on our first trip, when you look at the price tag on something that’s not what you end up paying for the item at the checkout, you add your taxes on at the checkout where here, what is on the price tag 🏷 is what you pay, it can be confusing at first Lol 😂 until you get with it plus we don’t Tip over here, that makes for a more expensive product also. Sorry for the long comment, but I love talking about finance’s from different countries. Cheers from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺…!!! 🙂 ❤️❤️💙💙

  12. There are so many good books that can help, but the best to start with are “Eat That Frog” by Brian Tracy and “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson.

And yes, making a habit of reading your Bible daily is so important too. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing be the Word of God.” His “Word does not return void, but it accomplished that for which He sent it.” 💗📖🙏

  13. When I take the time to hug my husband I melt .. after 40 years I still melt ..It is calming to me , safe and the longer I hold on the MORE I settle .. SO blessed to be so loved and we certainly realize through the early deaths of our parents our TIME together is PRECIOUS ;]

Oil pull, vitamins, all this GREAT stuff ! i agree!! Happy New Year Shea ;]

  14. I was 33 when my mom died & 37 when my dad passed. They both had heart attacks & passed suddenly. You are right; you never know how much time you have with them. As an influencer, you are saying things that matter.

  15. Hey! As a Sabbath observer, my family uses zero electronics from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday EVERY SINGLE WEEK. We eat all the meals together, read, do puzzles and play boardgames together. Oh, and we definitely nap, too lol. The downtime has an amazing calming effect that lets you start your week on a relaxing note. Surprisingly, even my 16 year old son admits it’s his favorite day of the week!

  16. Shea – THANK YOU for pointing out the fact that we might have 20+ years with our parents or friends, but the actual time you get to see them is minimal. For me, my family live in different parts of the world so I now take whatever time we can to meet, even just for a short time. Thank you again! Have a safe and happy New Years with yours!

  17. Thank you for actually sharing how you stack the habits! I’ve been wanting to add oil pulling, but can’t seem to remember, and same with the vitamins and the water! I did add chugging 24 ounces of water as one of my vitamins! Thank you for all of these great tips. Here’s to a great 2023!
