  1. Agree with the ones I’ve tried. Also the MSG hype/myth was debunked a decade ago. Also can you link the studies about aluminum harm from deodorant? Thanks!

    1. There are plenty more too. Look into vaccines and aluminum and look into Alzheimer’s and aluminum.. oh and just research it yourself. NEVER take anyones word completely on anything before confirming what they are saying on your own 🙄🤦‍♀️

    2. @lisap3.2 Hahah maybe. So much conflicting nuggets of information floating around. I don’t use deodorant everyday to be honest, especially since most of my time as been at home recently. Can’t hurt to be cautious.

  2. I feel like you can drive yourself crazy thinking about and researching these things. 😩 I went through that phase after having Melanoma, and it gave me so much anxiety about everything we were eating, everything I was cleaning with, and really just about everything in our home. It’s a delicate balance between making healthy choices for yourself and your family and keeping your sanity at the same time… because there’s bad “stuff” in just about everything – and it can vary depending on the opinion/methods of research from the person writing the information we consume. I wish we were all just given truly healthy options in all facets of everyday life and didn’t feel the burden of researching everything to death.

    1. @i_wakeup_4_makeup I’m not an expert on any of it. ♥️ I just know I do the best I can making choices for myself and my family while balancing the fact that I know I can go nuts reading all the he said/she said regarding what’s healthy and what isn’t. (Some things are obvious – I’m speaking more to things where there’s no clear, definitive answer/evidence from medical professionals.). And you know what? At the end of the day, we can be as perfect (for lack of a better way to put it) with our choices as is humanly possible, and things still happen. Good choices certainly only help, but with so much conflicting information out there, I just do the best I can. And at the end of the day, I’m okay with that. ♥️

  3. I’m so with you on those refrigerator organizers, Shea! Like, it looks good, but I’m not looking for a useless hobby to keep up with 🤣

    1. I use them to organize my pantry and under my sinks. I also have one of them in my garage fridge to put smaller misc items in to keep them from getting lost behind larger items.

  4. THANK YOU for calling out Maybelline Great Lash. At 48 years old, I recently finally indulged my curiosity about the hype and bought the iconic pink tube for the first time in my life. IT SUCKS. LOL! Into the trash it went! Sloppy smeary mess! So runny…if I even slightly itch my eye it smears all over even hours after application…yuck!

  5. Hi Shea, I’m so happy to have found your channel! I’m a new subscriber. I find your videos, informative, fun, and relaxing. Thank you, when there are so many challenges currently in our world… it helps a great deal to have content like this that is uplifting. Thanks so much.
oh and Fyi on a whim I bought the Maybelline great lash mascara Big from Amazon the other day and was really surprised by the applicator brush…it is much bigger and much better than the original. I actually really like it.

  6. Love when you do these videos! Agree with all the things you said except the make up erase. I keep trying it but it leaves fussy residue on my face no matter how many times I try it and I have both pink and black. I might just have to move on. I absolutely love the Lilly Skin reusable pads. Has anyone tried them.

  7. I think it depends on the look you’re going for. If you want the dainty, really separated lashes, the pink Maybelline mascara is great especially separating the lashes at the edges. When I want the full sort of stacked look, then I’ll go for something like the other Maybelline option.

  8. I have to disagree with you about Proactiv. After I had used a facial scrub by St. Ives, I started to break out with acne on my cheeks so much that my doctor thought I had rosacea. I was in my 40’s at the time when I went to dermatologists and tried all sorts of acne treatments, but the rosacea just got worse, and my skin got drier. Finally, after a year of trying, I got a facial and the esthetician told me that it wasn’t rosacea but acne due to small, clogged pores. I needed to clean my skin better. Then I tried Proactiv and within a week, my skin started to clear up and the redness went away. I don’t use Proactiv anymore because I no longer have acne or any oily areas of skin as I got older. It saved my skin and relieved me of a lot of frustration and anger over not being able to treat my “rosacea”.

    1. I’ve been using Proactiv for 25 years, I use the cleanser everyday still. I haven’t had acne for more than 2 decades. The cleanser is gentle on my skin and not drying. It also helped my 14 year old daughter erase her acne and gain her self esteem back.

    2. Proactiv worked really well for me in terms of getting rid of acne, but I became allergic to it within a year. Some of the ingredients are pretty harsh.

  9. I really love when you do videos like this and even throughout some of your other videos you will mentions ingredients that aren’t good for you. I feel like I’m getting a mini education! Great job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  10. Love hearing your thoughts! A product that I don’t love anymore is Olaplex 1, 2, and 3. I used to think it was amazing, but it just doesn’t last for me. Seems to wash out right away. The pH of the Olaplex shampoo is too high, not healthy for your hair, but the conditioner’s pH is excellent. I may try the oil, leave in or conditioner, but the treatments (1, 2 or 3) are just not worth the time and effort. Also playing a little with K18 to see if it’s better, but not sure at this point.

  11. I’d have to disagree with Proactive. I had bad acne when I was starting college and I was so depressed and the infomercial of Proactive popped on my TV. My acne was totally gone after using the set. I also talked to a guy classmate who had bad acne and I noticed that his face was clearer, I also used Proactive. So, I think it depends on the skin type of the person? Or maybe it works for the younger age? I dunno, I only have rave reviews for Proactive. 💗

    1. I only use the Renewing Cleanser because the rest dries out my face, but it got rid of my cystic acne. I only use it at night and I’ve used it for 25 years.

    2. I had really bad Rocasea and Proative is the only thing that worked for me! It’s the only thing I have been using for the past 10 years! Love it! I only use the cleanser and sometimes the lotion.

    3. proactiv saved me as well! I struggled with acne 4th-8th grade. the first day I used it, my friends said my skin already looked smoother!! my skin was so clear I did not need any face makeup. however, I got into accidents n needed to cover up scars with concealer, so it’s not perfect anymore. i’ll continue to use it I don’t want to waste time & money trying anything else

  12. I completely agree with the mascaras!!! That old thing is so hyped and so gross and just bad. But I use the sky high and I love it!!

  13. I really enjoy these random product evaluations, whether your saying they’re too hyped and don’t do what they claim & I also like the product evals that you say are wonderful. I’m getting my almost 21 yr old son a couple of things for his birthday that you and Josh suggested during your series of X-Mas gift ideas for men.
I have bought several of your suggestions and have been incredibly pleased except for one: *the KENNZI IPL Handset…is a DUD it never turned on and I’m so disappointed, I really wanted to minimize my leg hair. I emailed them the same day I received it and didn’t work but they REFUSE to even exchange it. I didn’t ask for a refund, just a product that works. And it was rather expensive $255. Nor did I purchase it through PayPal (to use the product guarantee, I am simply out the money : (

  14. Couldn’t agree more with the mascara and tanning drops I thought it was just me. Thank you for making a totaly honest product review people don’t always have money to waste.👍

  15. I use the deodorant brand called Megababe in “the smoothie deo” in a pink bottle! It doesn’t contain aluminum or baking soda and it smells nice and works well for everyday, but unsure how well it will hold up if doing intense workouts. It’s a bit pricey but I’ve been using the same one for 4 months and it’s still going strong! It is accessible too as I picked it up at my local Target.

  16. I’m noticing that no one has mentioned how a lot of these brands still test on animals. This is something that really needs to be looked at.
We need to consider how much these animals suffer for our vanity.
    Love your channel 💗

  17. I used to literally get hard tender bumps under my arms and someone finally said to me that it could be the aluminum in my deodorant and it changed my life. Native used to be my go to, but I’m on the Kopari train now. Thanks for sharing about the mineral deodorant, I’m sure a lot of people don’t know about it!

  18. I used proactive way back when I was a teen and honestly didn’t help much. I went through the Purge with my skin when it started, but honestly it wasn’t ever sustainable not to mention it was really expensive. The only thing that actually was nice to use and did help a bit was the green tea moisturizer. The rest of the line was crap for me. I ended up on a topical cream which helped a lot. Now I just use Vichy and a basic gel cream and my skin is much happier.

  19. The THAI deoderant is safe. The “alum” in the crystal deodorant has a different molecular makeup than the aluminum found in you usual antiperspirants. “Alum has low degree of antiperspirancy and functions more as a deodorant than an antiperspirant. Aluminium Chlorohydrate is a small molecule and works by aluminium ions being absorbed by the body, Alum is a stable larger molecule and is NOT absorbed and works as an antibacterial agent on the surface.”
